Bear

November 28th, 2008

One of several bears carved out of tree trunks that dot Garden City, Utah. I love this guy. His face is awesome. I’ve got a profile shot I’ll share Monday.

So these are just around outside? Someone just carved them out of existing stumps? That’s so cool!

It’s great to have a perspective of Utah apart from the usual crap we outsiders hear about it. The scenery is obviously spectacular and there are some nifty things going on, like these sculptures.

This reminds of a local carver who does large dogs, moose, and mounties.

    #1 threat to America, indeed!

Great place for a getaway. One of my roommates at BYU had a place up there we would go to in the summer.
Great thing about Utah is the scenery.

I think this is great, but Colbert would probably say they were just created to lull us into thinking that bears are cute and fun– then GOTCHA! Bears -are- that wiley.

Loved your Thanksgiving blessing. Hope you don’t mind if I borrow it for my family Christmas dinner. Just to shake things up a mite. ; )

    Hey Jon…

Had to pass this on to you and Heather. Thought you’d dig it. It’s now on my top 20 fav holiday songs.

WOW! I can’t believe how much time someone put into all these details. Did they initial it or sign anywhere? I’d love to see a store of theirs or something.

I saw this when you originally posted it, and I keep coming back to it because it keeps cracking me up.

You know how some little weird thing just cracks you up? THIS IS IT FOR ME. So thanks for posting this, I have had a terrible week at work, and this weird little bear is pulling me through.
