April 1st, 2009Technically, the chili posing as a right single quotation mark is going the wrong way, but we’ll give the sign maker a pass for using such great color in this sign.
The food was good, but the Silver Train (Herradura Silver, Cointreau, fresh-squeezed limes, rocks, salted) margaritas helped make the night successful. They did not help the gesturing.

Very cool sign. My favorite part is what I assume to be the ice cubes along the bottom. But then, I’m overly fond of ice. And cool colors.

Single parenting is hard.
That’s what they called me in South Carolina…Güero.
Only slightly on the subject of this post because it deals with SXSW, but I was just visiting a friend in Seattle, who’s cousin (or cousin-in-law?) helped design this year’s logo, which she had up as her screen savor. Anyway, small world with connections all over the place.
Thanks for being a single parent while your lovely wife is off sharing herself with the country. I had the wonderful privilege of meeting Heather at Powell’s (after getting there too late for the actual reading, boo hoo), and she was not only as lovely in person as in her photos, but she was was incredibly sweet and generous with her time. She even said my baby was cute, so I have this secret (not so secret now) fantasy that you will be naming your baby Ellis. Yes, I’m a dork, who spends way too much time in her head thinking up these fantastic scenarios.
ANYWAY, I think you should plan a family vacation to Southeast Alaska to check out our nature. Your photos of Utah (and vacations) are gorgeous, but Alaska would knock your pants right off. Miles & miles of mountains, glaciers, and coastlines ~ just think of the photo ops!
