June 17th, 2009Not looking so good right now:

Oh Apple, I thought we’d moved past these kinds of things…
I wonder how well all the new push notifications are going to work if they can’t handle the rush of people upgrading software. o

Planning ahead is for losers.
But does it really matter? Your new 3GS phones should be arriving in 2 days anyway.
Hey Jon,
Okay, this is not about iPhones, because I don’t own one. Since Heather already has 3,000 (!) comments, I thought I’d say it to you, because you might actually read what I’m writing.
I just wanted to tell you that I have been visiting both yours and Heather’s websites several times a day for the past months, to see if there were any updates about the pregnancy / baby. I don’t see myself as an Internet addict or Dooce fanatic, but for some reason I was really hoping this pregnancy would go the way you’d want it to, and that you two and Leta would be happy and healthy.
Marlo looks absolutely gorgeous and her name is just amazing.
I wish you all the best with this great addition to your beautiful family. You’ve come far in the past couple of years, and I hope to see you continue on this great path for many years to come.
(Isn’t it amazing how everybody on the Internet seemed to know about this little girl within an hour after Heather wrote about it?!)
With kind regards,
Zinzy
I finally got mine to update a few moments ago after receiving the server message for a few hours.
Superb name for your phone.
we have the same name for our phone it seems. oh, my precious. me loves it.
I would imagine there are a lot of iPhones named “Precious”…
we’re trying, jon. we’re really trying.
good lord i could use a drink.
It seems that it really depends what part of the world you are in. I got onto the server and downloaded the thing at about 110pm EST no problem — though I’m sure their servers were choking – a 230mb download took a half hour over my 10 Megabit connection.
Oh Apple so better get their act together because I have been COVETING a damn iphone for a year and a half and I’m finally going to get one!!
BTW, congrats on little Marlo!
Jon, did you ever get it to work.
I guess I was just lucky-twice. Logged on at 10:03 PST. Downloaded and installed in 27 minutes total including restart. Only strange thing was it changed my language to Danish.
When my bride got home, I did hers in less than 30 minutes at about 4:00 pm PST. Hope you got yours. Can’t wait to pick up my 3G S on Friday.
I did get it to work.
Looking forward to copying and pasting stuff.
So weird…I had a phone named Precious, too (pre-iPhone era, though).
