Beak and Buoys

This egret was sauntering about and looking damn fine. I had to be really careful not to scare it away, because I was shooting with the 35mm lens. Heather had the 24-70 and if I was thinking, which I rarely engage in, I would have grabbed her camera and shot about 86 shots of this bird. However, I was only able to get two shots before he took off.

This is one of the heavily cropped images that I keep yammering about. While I wished I had a longer lens, the truth is that the cloud cover and available light would have been a challenge to work with to get a sharp, usable image. Still, this is one of my favorites from the trip.
