Feed Truck

Taken in Myton, Utah. Driving to Roosevelt I caught this building out of the corner of my eye and had to take a bunch of shots.

When I was in Boy Scouts, we’d do a monthly paper drive and we’d weigh the pickup trucks loaded with paper at a place just like this. They had scales large enough to weigh a pickup. Then we’d take the papers to a shed where we’d unload them for use (after pulverization) as attic insulation. Then we’d weigh the empty trucks to get payment from the insulation guy. During the trips to and from the scales and the drop off, we’d all ride in the bed of the trucks, safety be damned. Somebody had to hold down the papers. I’m not sure we made that much money from the drives, but it was always awesome to throw bundles and stacks into the shed.
