Get Out Before the Fire

As the light went from morning delicious to the flat midday, I decided to wrap up my shooting. Headed back to my car, I spotted this fire escape. I stopped and took a half dozen shots. I walked around it to get a few different angles and the last shot was this one with the sun peaking through the slats.

Seattle was gorgeous. Absolutely beautiful weather that belies the rep as gray and rainy. Really great trip, despite the revelations and the pain.

“Only I can write my life/story/future.”–wow, that might be the best affirmation yet.

    Gorgeous shot.

I love your writing style. And to think I only knew you were good at taking photos; I’ve been missing out, clearly. Thanks for sharing the affirmation(s). :)

Love the shot. Seattle has been absolutely gorgeous since I moved up here four weeks ago. Sorry I missed you at Bumbershoot – I owe you a big old hug!

Thanks! I’m sorry I missed you. Although I thought I saw you shooting Tony
Bennett and then I thought maybe you wouldn’t be shooting Tony Bennett.

I’ve been told that September and October are the best. My experience is that November can be pretty damn fine as well. Can’t speak for the other months. I’m hoping to get up there more. I’d love for the girls to see EMP.

I’ve lived in Seattle going on 3 years now. We’ve had nonstop blue sky & sun since the middle/end of June. And it’s been about 45 days without any measurable rain (getting to be a problem). NY and other “non rainy” cities actually get more accumulated rainfall than Seattle does. (I am sick of this weather, quite frankly. I moved here for cozy gray days and cooler weather! LOL)

(Forgot to add – for all the incredible whining that goes on about how we “had no summer” every single year, it’s like this EVERY SINGLE YEAR. I have beautiful shots of colorful, sunny days well into November from the past 3 years!)

We were in Seattle last week as well. It was amazing weather. I was expecting cloudy and depressing and was pleasantly surprised!

When I first saw this shot, in the upper right hand side I saw the word “peace” reflected in the pool. My favorite word, and now one of my favorite photos.

      Nice! And: thanks.
