I have shared the first round of my portraits from the Holi 2012 Festival of Color here. There are a lot of them. I may need to learn the art of self-editing. I’m too thrilled not to share. I’m really happy with how these turned out, given that I don’t normally take photos of people. The event removed a lot of personal barriers for me around the dynamics of approaching people with a giant lens and was a great way to ease into event photography.
The above shot warmed my heart in about 900 ways. She stood still for me to get several frames and I love her infectious smile. I also thought about Leta and Marlo. I think I’m going to try to take them to one of these. Hopefully sooner rather than later.
Daily affirmation (late today, I know!): Positivity isn’t bad. It is big.
