NOLA Sazerac

When I was last in New Orleans, I went to this spectacular bar with Ben Brown & Katie Spence. I knew Heather would love it and hoped that I’d be able to visit it with her… Last night, it was our first stop. The image above is the second Sazerac that I had and it was just as awesome as the first. Our kindly host, Pableaux (1, 2, 3, 4) is a major resource for excellent culinary recommendations. He was instrumental in the famed Night of Six Meats meal in December 2009 where Ben, Katie, Micki Krimmel were served: alligator, pork (fried pig ears done up like fries), catfish, rabbit, beef and chicken. There may have been a Seventh Meat, but I’m foggy on that night due to the bourbon flight that I had with dinner. Anyway.

Thanks to Pableaux for a fantastic night out!

Which bar did you hit for that drink? I’m always looking for a bar that makes a good Sazerac. It doesn’t look like the Roosevelt’s Sazerac Bar, by the looks of that glass and table top.

I’m pretty sure it was Bar Tonique on Rampart. Pretty sure.

Translation: I’M NOT SURE AT ALL.

Excellent! That was such a great bar, I’m glad Heather and Maggie were able to experience its greatness.
