Old and Older

This photo captures the texture of Isla Mujeres pretty well. Every surface had a feel that was aching to be photographed. Universes of texture all around.

The population of the island is only about 13,000 (2005). I can’t imagine what it would cost to maintain a property there. I was reminded a little bit of some of the beach towns in Southern California. Except those towns always have a gray tinge to them unless you go in the mid-late summer. The island was bursting with saturated and rich colors. Like nothing I’d seen in person before.
