Bear
One of several bears carved out of tree trunks that dot Garden City, Utah. I love this guy. His face is awesome. I’ve got a profile shot I’ll share Monday.

Running to the store to get more butter for Thanksgiving dinner, I caught this piece of art carved out of a stump.
I think there is a local artist, because I found a ton of bears carved out of trees. I’ll share more photos soon. o
We are spending the first part of this week near Bear Lake. As I write this, at 4:44 PM, the sun is setting, it’s cold and there has been liberal use of butter in the recipes prepared today. Butter forecast for tomorrow is showing further increase. Arteries are on high alert.
We’re celebrating Thanksgiving with my family at the remote location and then driving down to Grandmommy’s house on Thursday to gorge ourselves there.
After which time we will visit Big Al’s Vomitorium.
I’m thankful for a good first trimester. I’m thankful for my wife, whose brilliance puts food on the table. I’m thankful for my daughter who is almost able to read more than a couple of books. I’m thankful for the fact that I get to celebrate being thankful without dogs. o

This little fella won’t let go of its leaves. And I won’t let go of this magnificent autumn.
That’s not the Prozac® talking. I haven’t started my seasonal dose yet. Soon, my precious, soon. o
I’m not going to get into how I found this, but all you Brooklyn hipster women going for the 70s big glasses look? You’ve just been schooled:

Dude, Lynda Carter was smokin hot. Smokin. Hot.
Moving along, now. o
And slightly terrified. I’ve heard that one kid to two kids is an easier transition than no baby to one baby. But I’ve also heard the other way.
We’re gonna need a bigger boat. o

I know that I was supposed to hold onto this image until it got really bad. It hasn’t snowed enough to stick yet, so technically, I’m way ahead of the game, here.
This was taken in Destin, Florida back in June, 2008. All the way back then. Wow, I miss it. o

I love movie titles with “Final” in them. They invariably have sequels where the very notion of the definition of the word “Final” is called into question. There is a rather famous video game with the word final in it and about a dozen sequels.
In the digital age, the notion of a final cut is even called into play as directors re-cut their masterpieces, sometimes multiple times over the years. How many versions of Blade Runner or Star Wars can their be?
Anyway. Fall! Colors!
Because now it’s raining and gray outside. It’s also cold. o

When I lived in California, I always missed this light and palette. This year has been splendid in many ways, and this autumn could not have been a better capper. o
