A Lovely Afternoon in the Quarter

I took a quick walk for brunch in the French Quarter and the weather was fantastic. It felt like a cross between the Haight, Memphis (but weirder) and in a strange way, Amsterdam.

I definitely want to return and spend more time shooting photos. What a great city. o

De-icing Begins

I was trying to do a deep focus on all three de-icing rigs and the one that would be working on our plane started moving and spraying right as I hit the shutter release. So much for planning ahead, composition and deep focus.

In other news? Winter has arrived. o

Out of Business

New Orleans. While this doesn’t show overt Katrina damage, it seems to sum up what happened in 2005. o

Parallel Lines

I’m completely addicted to tweaking photos on an iPhone. I really want a larger-than-iPhone surface tablet device to tweak images. The interface possibilities have me all aflutter.

You Wanna Buy a Print?

Hello.

I’m testing a service called Fotomoto to sell and ship prints of more sizes than my custom prints I’ve been offering on Etsy. I love Etsy, but I thought I’d give this a try after seeing it on some other sites, most notably, topleftpixel. Big shout to Marshall for hipping me to this service.

I’m still ironing out the kinks, but the way it works is that you click “Buy Print” or “Buy Card” and choose your size. You’ll need JavaScript enabled to see how it works, but a lot of you have asked for different print sizes and for copies of prints that I haven’t offered in my Etsy shop and this is a great way for me to offer these with minimal impact on my daily schedule. For now, you can buy a print of any photo I’ve posted here. Happy holidays! p.s. Yes, I said ANY photo!

Note: I’ve cross-posted some of my flickr photos and I’m still working out how to offer those at smaller sizes only, as those photos are usually taken from my iPhone. o

Vintage Detroit Iron 2

1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass. Original owner.

I still miss the 1972 Buick LeSabre my dad bought in 1983. It had 20k miles on it and was in amazing shape. That car died in 1990 and I didn’t have the $$$ to save her. I still feel bad about that.
