I shot this last July, waiting for the sun to set before I could shoot the fireworks. I’m not sure if anybody has ever referred to the Empire State Building as a “pointy” head, but plenty of people have referred to flat roof skyscrapers as “flattops.”

This winter has been horribly cold and when I saw this image come up in my Lightroom grid of 2014 images, I knew I had to export it for exactly this time of year; when the cold has lost its novelty and it’s time for the thaw to begin.
