Strabismus / Esotropia 3 days post op

Here’s what my eyes look like 3 days post strabismus/esotropia surgery:

Yes, both eyes were adjusted.

My official diagnosis was in fact esotropia. So that’s a double erroneous situation as I first thought I had esotropia in this post and then in this recent post I said I didn’t have it.

I’ve done pretty well in recovery. First, I learned my anesthesia lesson with the gall bladder surgery and made sure they gave me Zofran or whatever I needed to wake up not nauseous. It was a marked difference waking up and not wanting to die. Second, my brother took me to his place to crash for a couple of nights. He kept the ice water flowing and I drank about 6 gallons. Third, the pain meds, while not my favorite, actually work to take the edge off of the pain. Compared to my cornea transplant, the pain is a little worse, but I was able to use my eyes more quickly.

Here’s what my left eye looks like:

And here’s what my right eye looks like:

I’d say it looks worse than it feels, but that would not be honest. It hurts. But it’s getting better.
