My mom was taken to the hospital in extreme pain and spent the night under observation. I’m headed back to the hospital, but it looks like she’s going to be ok. I spent most of yesterday afternoon and all of the evening at the hospital with my mom. My sisters have done the bulk of the visiting and caregiving and were amazing to watch as they helped my mom through the night.
At my mom’s age, every medical thing she endures takes on a gravitas that carries potential outcomes and heavier potential weight for the future. Thank goodness she’s doing better today and they are closer to figuring out what is causing all the pain.
Family is important. So is our health. Taking in today with a renewed sense of making the most of this life.
