A Time of Thanks and Whatnot

We are spending the first part of this week near Bear Lake. As I write this, at 4:44 PM, the sun is setting, it’s cold and there has been liberal use of butter in the recipes prepared today. Butter forecast for tomorrow is showing further increase. Arteries are on high alert.

We’re celebrating Thanksgiving with my family at the remote location and then driving down to Grandmommy’s house on Thursday to gorge ourselves there.

After which time we will visit Big Al’s Vomitorium.

I’m thankful for a good first trimester. I’m thankful for my wife, whose brilliance puts food on the table. I’m thankful for my daughter who is almost able to read more than a couple of books. I’m thankful for the fact that I get to celebrate being thankful without dogs.
