Kind of, But Not Really

A great sign and a great diner.

I’ve been working on a project that I’ll share soon. No big deal, but I’m in a non-writing work mode. Writing uses a part of my brain that competes with designing and code. It’s hard to shift between these modes. It always has been for me.

Wow I really love this photo and I wish I could hang that sign above my television. I’d never turn it on because it’s gorgeous just like that.

I’m with you – the transition between writing or singing or teaching and desk/office work takes me hours… on a good day.

Wow. Stark and stunning. GREAT texture! And great color. I love everything about this.

As for switching between design and writing… you know, it’s funny. I’m a writer, I love writing most, but there’s a design/photography mode that I find easier to be in. I can get lost for HOURS tweaking an InDesign file or debugging HTML/CSS. But my stories? The things I actually WANT to do for the rest of my life and make a career out of? It’s hard to sink into.

Not sure what that’s all about, but there it is.
